About Jenny

Hello, I’m Jenny and I’d like to welcome you to this little place on the internet that is A Beautifully Burdened Life. I’m a stay-at-home-mom to two wild-eyed children who keep me busy. I’m also mom to two babies who have only ever called heaven home, two babies that I wonder about each day.

I once thought that beauty could only be found in life’s blessings. But as I’ve grown older and life’s burdens seem to grow faster than its blessings, I’ve been surprised to find that beauty exists in the midst of burdens and that so often, it’s created because of the burden.

Over the past few years, I have experienced the burden of grief, and in that process found beauty in a heart changed from cold to compassionate.

Each day I experience the burdens of motherhood, but find beauty when I look into my children’s bright eyes or feel their unblemished skin brush against mine.

There is the burden of failing to do it all on my own, and beauty as God pulls me close and tells me I don’t have to.

There is the burden in growing older and beauty in growing wiser with age.

There is the burden of sin and failure, and the beauty of God’s redeeming grace.

This list could go on and on. While the days are rife with burden, they are also ripe with beauty.

And although I would prefer that burdens bypass me altogether, they will always be part of life here on earth. But so will beauty. For burdens promote growth, a process in which I am slowly changed into the person I was meant to be.

It is my hope that this space will provide encouragement in life’s burdens and allow for celebration when life is simply beautiful.

May this be a place where love makes life a little sweeter. Where laughter helps to lighten the load. Where hope leads to a heavenly future. And where connection ensures that no one carry their burdens alone.

And may beauty be found despite all of life’s burdens.
